How creators get paid on HouTV

HouTV keeps a flat 8% platform fee on membership payments. The rest goes to the creator, minus standard payment-processing fees. We don't charge listing fees, monthly fees, or fees to watch.

What a creator earns

Fans pay monthly for a creator's membership tier. From each payment:

HouTV platform fee: 8%
Payment processing (Stripe): the standard card fee (currently 2.9% + $0.30 in the US), paid by the creator
Creator receives: the remainder, paid out to their connected Stripe account

Example — a $10 / month membership

Fan pays: $10.00
Payment processing: −$0.59
HouTV fee (8%): −$0.80
Creator receives: $8.61

Because card processing includes a fixed per-charge amount, lower-priced tiers keep a smaller share. The membership editor shows a live "you keep" estimate as you set a price.

Payouts

Payments are handled by Stripe via Stripe Connect. Creators connect a Stripe account (a quick verification), and Stripe pays out earnings to their bank on Stripe's payout schedule. Refunds and disputes are also handled through Stripe.

Fees may change as HouTV grows; we'll update this page and notify creators of material changes. Card processing rates are set by Stripe and vary by country and payment method.
